Simpsonville is no ordinary town and Burdette Central is no ordinary building. The building's history dates back to 1899, but soon it will become an integral part of the next generation of Simpsonville. You'll want to be a part of it. You'll be making new history.
Simpsonville is growing and doing so with intelligence, just like so many other small cities in the Southeast. Income are rising, sales are growing and the population is increasing steadily but in a manageable way. This is the place to be if you're considering opening a business.

Begun in 1899, Burdette Hardware was a family business. The store was both a retail and a community gathering place that welcomed everyone in good times and bad. At certain points it housed a shirt factory as well as a hardware store, and B.W. Burdette, the founder, paid close attention to the business, his family and the community. As one of the most important businesses of its time, the building today holds landmark status. The new owners pledge to honor its history and its importance.
This is Diane Kirven and Mack Burdette. Their grandfather (they call him granddaddy) started the store. They’ll tell you how it was a home away from home, how the kids all worked there and how it helped put bread on the table and many of them through college. This is a true family business, but one that made all of Simpsonville feel like family. The intention is to keep that feeling going as the building lives on.
“Granddaddy believed in hard work and he let you know if you weren’t pulling your weight. But this store was good to all of Simpsonville."
